Social Media Isn’t Real Life You Know

Social media is the first mass medium that allowed people to publicly share their thoughts, feelings and lives with others and has now become an inauthentic culture sadly.

Social media only shows us images and videos of a picture perfect life and body.

We become so channelled in being envious of this seen “ideal” self and lifestyle which in reality doesn’t exist. Social media has created an illusion of what life should be seen as, when in reality it’s so far from the truth of real life- the good days and bad.

We are constantly influenced to look a certain way, and act a certain way. We seem to always find ourselves constantly seeking validation to be seen in a certain light.

Don’t get sucked into this culture. Make a stand. Make a change.

“You are born to be real, not to be perfect.”

These celebrities, influencers are real people like you at the end of the day. They too have ups and down but they don’t highlight these imperfections instead they disguise them.

You are influenced by who you surround yourself with and follow, so ensure those people are positive, accepting, helpful and make you feel strong and empowered. Make sure they are real like you.

Don’t shy away from your imperfections either. They make you, YOU. That is your authenticity, your uniqueness, your super power.

Let’s make a revolutionary change to social media and show real life, the real you.
