Learn How To Love Yourself More
It’s a classic Ru Paul line, but aside from being a great end to an even better show, we think that the title of this blog post is something that we all should try and live by! We know all about making sure that we love other people and show them how much we care, but what about loving ourselves?
No, we are not talking about masturbation (although we do talk about that too) we actually mean how do you show yourself some love mentally and physically?
Loving ourselves and taking care of our own wellbeing doesn’t seem to come naturally to most of us, which is why we need to be shown the way. To help us to figure out how best to show ourselves some love, we have put together our top tips on how to love yourself.
Learn how to say no
One of the best ways to be kind to yourself is to learn how to say no. This doesn’t mean that you should be rude to people, or not offer help, but if you need to say no, then you have every right to. Stand tall and tell them that you can’t be there, you can’t help or you can’t offer support. It might not feel right at the time, but we can promise you that it is the best thing for you.
Stop comparing yourself
It is natural to compare ourselves to other people around us. Whilst making comparisons are a great way to learn how to grow and develop ourselves, this isn’t always the healthy approach to take. Take a step back and look at why you are comparing yourself against other people, what do you want to achieve? Unless it is a way to make yourself an even better version, then stop. It won’t make you feel good and in fact, is a way to really harm how you feel about yourself.
Everyone loves a treat from time to time, but it is important to take care of our bodies inside and out. This means having as healthy a diet as possible, making sure that we mainly indulge in foods that are good for us, with some occasional treats. Be as active as possible too. Not only is exercise a great way to ensure that you are as healthy as possible, but it actually gets your brain kicking out happy chemicals, which is a sure-fire way to make yourself feel amazing.
Mistakes happen and whilst they can be frustrating, they are not the end of the world. You need to remind yourself that mistakes are okay. Forgive yourself and move on.
Take the time to learn how to love yourself. Not only will it make you feel great, but, it will also help you to learn more about how to pass this love on to other people in your life. Spreading a little love is something that we could all benefit from more of!
