We know that smoothies are good for us, they are a great way to make sure that we get enough vitamins, minerals and all-round good stuff into our bodies at once. They are also healthy and often are low-fat and low carbohydrate, making them ideal for when you want to enjoy something tasty but maintain and keep an eye on your weight.

The thing is with smoothies is that they are not always the most interesting thing to eat/drink. You can often get stuck in a rut with the smoothies that you make, especially if you find one that you like. But, even the most delicious recipes can get boring over time. So, to help you to make sure that you start to enjoy smoothies again, here are some of the best ways to make them interesting.

Always use fresh fruit and veg where you can

We know that sometimes it is quicker, cheaper and easier to use frozen fruits and vegetables in our smoothies (especially those pre-prepared smoothie kits you can buy) but these are not always the best tasting. It is a much better idea to use fresh fruits and vegetables, they taste so much delish!

Invest in a good blender

The equipment that you use is also important in the smoothie making process. If you are going to be making smoothies on a regular basis, then it is a good idea to invest in a good quality blender. This will ensure that any smoothies that you make are properly blended and that they taste amazing. 

Add dark leafy greens

Dark leafy greens are a must-have in any smoothie. They don’t really add too much flavour (unless you really go over the top) as the fruit and other add-ins will usually balance them out. What they do add however is plenty of vitamins and minerals to the smoothie, which is good news for your body. 

Mix up the liquids

Do you always stick the same liquid for your smoothie? If you do then it may be time to mix up what you use. Think about different milk alternatives as well as other options that are open to you. You may be surprised by just how fresh and interesting smoothies can seem when they have just one little change made to them.
